RW/RR Challenge: The Duel.
This season the contestants are competing in brazil and teams are a thing of the past. This season we see
Fresh-Meat Contestants Casey, Kenny, Evan, and Diem,
Real World Key West : Paula, Svetlana, John, and Tyler
Vets: Tina, Beth, Derrick, Robin, Jodi, CT, Brad, Aneesa, Nehemiah, Kina, and Wes.
The contestants are told that they are competing solo and in the end there will be a female and male winner. Then TJ tells them that this season no one is voted into the duel, that it would be determined like this: If it’s a Male Duel Day, the male winner chooses a female contestant to save, and she chooses a male, and so on and so forth, until there is one guy standing. He goes into the Duel and gets to choose his opponent from any of the other guys other than that days winner. Same concept for female duel day. The first challenge is a Male Duel Day, and the guys decide together that they want John in the duel because they don’t know him as well.
Reachin’ Out is the first challenge, and since it’s a male day, the ladies go first. The challenge is set up like this. In the middle of a circe there is a iron ring with ten ropes of an equal length attached to a harness. The contestants are harnessed and locked in, and their goal is to get to their lock box to unlock. The first one to do it wins, and gets airline tickets. When the challenge begins Beth won’t move so the girls have to move to her side, and Robin gets the win. When the guys compete, its easy to see that the heavier contestants such as Eric. have the advantage, and pull the other 5 guys away from their locks, giving Eric the win. When it comes time to chose, Eric picks Beth, who chooses Brad, he takes Jodi, who takes Derrick, Kina, CT, Aneesa, Wes, Tina, Nehemiah, (which makes Tina’s former teammate Kenny mad!)he chooses beth who chooses Evan, Diem, and she picks Kenny. This leaves Tyler, John, Paula, Fitz, and Casey waiting to be picked. Kenny says he wants to mix it up so he picks Svetlana (Fitz) to choose between John and Tyler. She finally chooses John, but Tyler picks John as his opponent in the duel. At the Duel they play the game, I can, where they guess how many watermelons they can lift for five seconds in a wooden container with handles. When the guessing gets to 35, John tells Tyler to do it, and he does, sending John home. The next day is a female duel day, and the challenge is Ring Toss. The object is to jump in this waist deep 10 foot mud hole and transport the other players rings to another pole. The girl/guy with rings left wins. They can work together or separately. The guys decide to take out the swimmers first which would be Wes and Tyler. They take out Wes, but get Tyler’s color confused with Nehemiah’s and take him out second. From there we have Ct, Derrick, Brad, Eric, Evan, and Tyler, leaving Kenny as the winner. When the women compete Diem gets upset because she has to take off her wig, and she feels self conscious because chemo had robber her of her hair, and it hadn’t grown back fully. The other women put on swim caps to make her feel better, and Diem finally takes the wig off and goes in without a swim cap. Once the challenge begins, they quickly get rid of Beth, followed by Casey, Paula, Jodi, Fitz, Tina, Robin, leaving it between Kina, and Diem, and Diem pulls out the win, showing cancer hasn’t beat her. While Diem celebrates Tina and Beth gets into it and it goes on until Tina threatens to punch Beth. Beth tells her to do it because she will get kicked off, and Tina gets so mad that she does punch right at Beth’s face but Beth anticipates it and blocks it so... that is how the episode ends.
